Coronavirus Policy - Please read carefully

The following arrangements have been put in place to keep everyone as safe as they can be whilst attending Muir classes. They are subject to change in line with government coronavirus rules and guidance:

  • All pupils and staff attending a Muir Academy class will be expected to be fully vaccinated. You can obtain an NHS Covid Pass here. This requirement also applies to pupils attending for a 1-1 or new pupil interview.
  • All pupils and staff attending classes will be expected to have their temperature recorded and complete a lateral flow test on arrival. These will be provided for you, along with instruction on how to complete if you are uncertain. You will be expected to wear a mask on arrival (can be provided) until you have a negative test result (or you can wait in your guardian's car). If you have a positive result, you will be expected to leave and your deposit will be returned.
  • After receiving a negative test result, pupils can choose whether they continue to wear a face covering or not. Pupils attending classes must not attempt to influence other pupils in their choice.
  • Classroom equipment such as desks, chairs etc will be sanitised before your arrival. Wipes and hand gel will be available for use throughout your stay. A dishwasher is used for tableware. Defaulters may take a little longer as some cleaning will be undertaken between pupils.
  • Accommodation is available at £25pppn on a first come first served basis for pupils attending day classes. (If you do not wish to share a room, you will need to pay £50pppn for single occupancy). These charges do not apply to boarders, where the fee includes accommodation. You should note however, that if you are attending a boarder, you will have to share a room/ bathroom.
  • If you have booked a place and subsequently test positive and cannot attend, your deposit (£50 for a day class, £100 for a boarder) will be rolled over to a suitable event when you are recovered. PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND IF YOU HAVE SYMPTOMS: a temperature above 37°C or if you do not have a thermometer, you feel hot to the touch on your chest or back, a new continuous cough, a loss or change in sense of smell or taste.
  • If you are uncertain about any of the information above, or have additional questions related to your attendance and coronavirus, please ask before booking your place.
